Hiking with my son in Shorthills Provincial Park, we came across this dead tree which was covered in thousands of holes as seen in this picture. I believe that these holes were made by hungry woodpeckers. With the tree being dead, perhaps the bark became good housing for many different bugs...a woodpeckers feast then if you ask me!
